Q:
Why did u decide to end your coaching career?
A: I just didn’t love it anymore, the guys wouldn’t listen, its
not like the old days, there are a lot of guys who think there all “the
man”, and it was hard to get the team message across!
Q: Do you think Mamma’s will ever win it?
A: I think they have the most talent, but I am not sure if they can
put it together to win it all. A lot of guys would have to put there
ego’s in the closet for them to win it all.
Q: Will you ever return to coaching?
A: If the right offer is made by a team that really shows it wants
to win, I will consider it, but it has to be my way or no way!
Q: Who do you think will win the title this year?
A: I think
Mamma’s has the talent, but they need chemistry, they still lose
to teams they are better than, but if they can click in the
playoffs..watch out. Shark club and Vourvoura are always favorites to win,
they are both unselfish teams.
Q: What are your plans this season?
A: I plan to take a little time off, go fishing, spend time with
the wife, you know family things. Maybe next year put a new team together,
build it my way from top to bottom.
Q: Are you saying you would one day play against your alma mater,
Mamma’s?
A: I am not saying for sure, but down the road…who knows.
Q: Who is Mamma’s best player?
A: It is Kavan Miller, he does what it takes to win! He never
complains when he is benched and is always there on Sundays. He shows up
for every game, I think he is top 3 in the league!
Q: Is there anything in particular that chased you away from
coaching?
A: Losing my job as GM was a tough one, and when we signed Charles,
I knew it would be bad chemistry for the team. He just doesn’t fit in
right, this team went 7-2 last year and tied for first place, but they
have already lost 2 with only 6 games played. I would have done things
differently, it didn’t feel like my team anymore.
Q: Are you saying Charles is the reason for losing?
A: No, I just don’t think he is helping the team in any way. He
is constantly taking trips to Florida to be with his wife, and he
doesn’t contribute much when he does show up on Sundays. I think he is a
distraction.
Q: If you have any advice for Mamma’s, what would it be?
A: GET THE BALL TO JOEL DOWN LOW!
